Boost your child’s interest in maths, and soon, their grades!
Why do some students enjoy maths and others put in only minimal effort? They ask questions like “Why do I need maths? I have a calculator on my iPad!” or “When will I even use this?” They find concepts hard to grasp as their reluctance becomes a mental block. Making maths relevant to them is a good way to inspire them – where there is simplicity and reliability, kids will engage easily.
Kids are highly inquisitive, and their abilities should not be underestimated. In our two-day workshop, we plan to build their interest and confidence in their own mathematical thinking. They get to apply it to hypothetical activities such as baking a cake, managing their pocket money or measuring their height.
Students of all educational backgrounds can take part in the workshop. This workshop will be especially helpful for students who are not showing interest in mathematics in school, as it will show them how maths can be part of their daily life. Developing their ability to apply mathematics to things around them should start at a young age, as it will go a long way to improving their general interest, mathematical abilities and school performance later on in life.
