Want to excel in the IELTS exam?
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally recognised English language proficiency test that is commonly required by students and workers going abroad. It is accepted by over 10,000 organisations in over 140 countries including governments, academic institutions and employers.
As a language test that is recognised worldwide, it covers 4 skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. This talk aims to help students understand IELTS better, namely: the new IELTS format, the minimum score needed for top UK universities and the best time to prepare.

Regina Yau is a Rhodes Scholar who holds two graduate degrees from Oxford – an M.St in Women’s Studies and an M.St in Oriental Studies (China Studies). She also has a First-class Bachelor’s Degree in English from Royal Holloway University of London. She has taught English for over a decade and currently teaches students aged 12 to 18 in preparation for Checkpoint, iGCSEs and IELTS. Some of her students have gone on to attend Oxbridge, with one student citing her as an inspiration for choosing Oxford over Cambridge. Outside teaching, Regina is the founder and president of The Pixel Project, a virtual non-profit working to end violence against women at the intersection of social media, new technologies, and the arts/pop culture.
