Top colleges in the US have a “holistic admissions” policy, meaning that they care not just about a students’ grades and test scores, but also about who a student is and what he or she can bring to a college community. This makes the essay component of the college application instrumental since it is where admissions officers get to know the applicant on a personal level, beyond their academic and extracurricular accomplishments.
In this 2-day workshop, students will learn about what it takes to get into a top college in the US and how to tackle the admissions essays. Day 1 covers the different topics students will need to write about and day 2 will cover writing tips to make their essay a memorable one. By the end of the workshop, students will develop a compelling personal narrative and be able to start drafting their essays.
Our workshop will be conducted by Kylie Francis, who has guided prospective university students into Ivy League colleges in the US including Harvard, Princeton and top Russell Group universities in the UK. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University and a Master’s in Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
