Be informed and equipped for the AI revolution.
Many students use AI in their daily lives like how people used to use search engines – these tools can help them learn better by rewording concepts or providing examples and exercises. But how many of them understand how AI works and the risks involved?
AI in the Real World aims to teach students how to go beyond ‘I used ChatGPT’, allowing them to develop from an AI user to AI builder.
Here’s the topic for each session:
- The Three Flavours of AI: the core types of machine learning, hands-on activities.
- Inside a Neuron: how AI actually works, train your own model in Python.
- LLMs & Prompt Engineering: how ChatGPT works, prompt engineering and live challenge.
- AI Detection & Mini-Project: why AI detectors fail and how to build your own.
Workshop Conductor
Yuness graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University College London and from University of Oxford with a Master of Science in Engineering. He has worked as a Data Science Consultant at EDF Renewables, where he used Python and data analysis to solve real-world engineering and energy problems. He is the Head of KS5 Computer Science and has built a KS4 AI module that is currently piloted in London. He aims to help students master algorithms, coding, and computational thinking. With Artificial Intelligence, he hopes that students can understand AI better and utilise it critically with substance, going beyond surface level applications to strengthen their learning and eventual top university application.
